New stuff coming up. Samsung SUR40 for Microsoft Surface

Hi all,

We’ve got some cool new hardware coming up in our rental department. We bought a couple of units of the new Samsung SUR40 for Microsoft Surface. This is a 40 inch touchtable that does object recognition, you can create interactions with items placed on the table. CREATE will not only resell the SUR40, we’ll also develop applications for it. So if you have a Surface project, don’t hesitate to contact us.

2011, a flashback

Hi all,

2011 has been quite the year for us. I would like to thank anyone who worked with us this year, and very much our dedicated team !!!! They made all this happen, the credit goes to them.

So time for a short blog post to reflect a little.

5 new people joined our team this year, so Nele, Pieter, Davy, Daan and Wim, a very big welcome to the family. On the professional side, we look back at a very successful 2011. We established a couple of new long term partnerships and we did some very cool projects like 360 projections, light festivals, giant touch tables and a lot of interactive installations. Our development team broke all records, a lot of interactive applications and creative programming was done this year. And most of all, we had a lot of fun on the way. CREATE is more than ever focused on multimedia development and interactive installations.

One of the most important events of 2011 was the start of our new brand called NEXT. It’s a full service technology provider for meetings and conferences. NEXT is all about meetings and technology: audiovisual support, e-posters, voting, …. NEXT is off to a great start. In their first 6 months they did some nice projects like the Medtech forum and dioxin conferences.

How about 2012 ?

At the moment it looks like 2012 will be a blast, a few very cool projects are in the pipeline. CREATE will be doing a lot of work in the museum and fixed installation market, we are currently working on projects like Bokrijk, Puyenbroeck visitor center, Oude Vismijn Ghent,… all these will be finished in 2012. We also have some nice artistic projects with giant projection mappings, but i can’t say much about that yet

Our rental stock ? We now have over 100 interactive screens and kiosks available for rent. From 10 to 200 inch. The 55 inch multi-touch screens (or tables) are a great success, we now have 10 of those in rental. The new Microsoft Surface will also be available as from end of January.

NEXT has a couple of big conferences coming up like spineweek 2012 and ecoc 2012 in the RAI. All hands on deck for those. The main focus of NEXT will be the new release of their e-poster software. The new version of their e-poster presenter software will be released end of Q1 2012.

The sixth edition of DMF is already behind us and boy was it a success! More than 3000 visitors in one day! Looking forward to CREATE something together soon!

We represented ourself at iMarkt 2011 last week-end. We delivered the hardware and a mapping on the igloo tent for this first edition called ‘I love spam’.
A stunning location and a cool vibe allowed us to make some new friends. Thanks again Avenue L and Gent M who organized it all. Also thanks to Jorn Urbain for the pictures!

For the kidscorner in the Jules Destrooper meeting centre Ocular asked CREATE to deliver the hardware and develop the content for a touch app on wich kids can choose a drawing and colour it by just using the tip of their finger.
